Little Acorns and Lay TriGGer
We have 2 new systems to test both are laying strategies.
Little acorns on the face of it is very similar to Go Fibonacci including the recommended staking plan. But it does have an alternative staking plan for people how cannot be at their computer all day. So this is the strategy that we are going to follow. I will make my selections of a lunchtime today we have just one qualifying bet.
Lay Trigger comes with a short well written manual and a very nice spreadsheet to log your results. It also has its own staking plan as well as a level stakes. The spreadsheet logs both staking plans automatically to give you a direct comparison. I will be running this system only between Monday and Friday for Afternoon Racing where I can monitor the live Betfair market. If you wanted to automate your bets you can use the Market Feeder Pro software there is a link in the manual to do this. This way all qualifying bets can be captured. The system has six steps (Triggers) that make the selections these are very simple to use and understand.
Test starts today with results tomorrow.

Day 17. There's no shortage of candidates for the Lay 51 system, but many of them, like today, end up going off in double digits. Today, one of these picks won its race, but would have been excluded due to system rules.
One other pick, going off according to the rules, lost its race, giving us a win rate of 81%, and bringing the paper profit on a starting bank of £2000, to £607, a 30% ROI.

Had a bad day at the office today.
5 selections wth only 2 being successful. A loss of £133 on the day.
System P/L £11.03
The main reason for the losses were that 2 selections had to be backed to win because of their price. Both horses finished 2nd the other which was a place bet finished 4th. So if you were prepared to take a smaller profit there woud have only been 1 losing bet. I shall take this approach with my own betting on this system.

Day 34
Legacy 1 selection which lost System P/L -£17.50
Saver 5 selections with 2 winners System P/L £134.75
Its been decided to bring this trail to an end. This system will be moved to the failed systems category. Although the Saver system has done quite well it is sold on the success of the Legacy with the Saver as a bonus. This has been a relatively short test in terms of backing, but historically the Legacy does better this time of year so may be we were unlucky!!
I will continue to record the results and give a monthly update to see if there is any improvement.

Day 7
Another successful day with 1 winner at a place price of 1.23 System profit now stands at £114.95
There was another selection that fitted the criteria but I decided not to include it. This is because the horse drifted and was on the Racing Post Market Movers as such. The horse did finish 3rd so would have been successful bet. But the system is all about confidience of money being down for the selection this why I made the decision not to back it.

Day 33
Legacy 1 selection which lost this now takes the system into a minus situation of -£7.50
Saver 2 selections 2 winners the system profit is now £140.00
These are to £10 level stakes.
This is a very strange system. The main system is failing and the bonus system is doing very well. The saver system has a lower strike rate (38%) than Legacy (40%) but does pick some nice price winners. Even using the cash master system on Leagcy as mentioned is now failing because of 5 losers in a row at very low odds you would need a strong heart for this sort of betting.

A Few words for thought
Well i was reading over the blog tonight and i got thinking about the neutral category! Who is going to want to buy a system with a rating of neutral? i know i certainly wouldnt so i am going to move everything from the neutral category to the failed category- I think it makes sense.

Using Cash Master Staking
This can only be used on the Legacy system as you never back at odds-on. The longest losing run with this system to date is 3 . At the moment using level stakes the system is £12.75 in profit using a £200 bank at £10 level stakes.
With Cash Master using a £500 bank with a £10 per race target the system would be £241.77 in profit. The highest stake so far is £78.40 and a £116.80 liability of the starting bank. The current run has 2 losing bets. But as with any loss recovery staking the longer the losing run the hairy it gets!! Certaintly not for the faint hearted.
I will keep you updated.

Lay 51 Operation, day 1.
The basis of Lay 51 is that successful lays can be picked right off the Betfair interface without the need to spend time checking race form anywhere else.
Going through the Betfair listings, especially at the end of the week with lots of races to look through, takes just a few minutes.
Today, the first day of the test, the system came up with two races to bet on. One, strictly by the system rules, and a second, by bending the rules just a little bit. I'll explain.
Lay 51 claims that horses don't normally win more than two races in a row.
Today however, I found that one horse, Stringsofmyheart, in the 20:10 at Chepstow, had done just that, winning three races in a row. So, on this day, choosing to make an 'educated gamble', that Stringsofmyheart would not make it four wins in a row, did in fact, pay off.
Starting with a test bank of £2,000.00, and laying 5% of the bank, or £100 on each race, the two winners today, net of commissions produced £190.00 in winnings!
Test bank stands at, £2,190.00.

Lay51Operation
Today begins a month-long paper trial of Lay51Operation, a laying system that finds its bets directly on the Betfair interface, completely bypassing the need to spend time rummaging through the likes of the Racing Post, etc.
Lay51Operation is very well written. After the usual Betfair preamble, it gets straight to the point of a reasonably short, and uncomplicated system.
Results will be reported on as they occur, with a final tally presented at the end of the trial period.

This is another Horse backing system. It comes in the standard PDF document that is 20 pages long. There is none of the usual padding it gets straight to the point explaining the system. This is extremely well written and very easy to follow.
It looks a very interesting system we will be following certain trainers and backing them when all the variables are right. The selection process is not complicated but does involve a bit of research which should take no longer than 15 – 20 minutes a day.
The type of bet depends on the Betfair price which will either trigger a place or a win bet. To level stakes it is recommended that a 10 point bank is used such is the confidence of the system claiming a 90% strike rate. So we will start with a virtual bank of £500 which means we will be using £50 level stakes.
The test will start on the Friday the 13th hope this is not a bad omen!!

The Football Formula
This system consists of three manuals that total about 100 pages. There is a lot of information contained in the manuals which are quite well written. Some of the explanations and examples will probably require reading more than once to fully understand them.
The first manual concentrates on a particular betting market and goes into great depth of how it works. To use this system you will have to wait until the start of the new season in August to implement it. Because you have to keep records for each of the teams in the league that you are going to bet on. Although this is going to require some of your own judgement to select the games to bet on it is quite simple to understand. With all football betting you cannot get a mechanical system that will work, you will have to do some research and keep records. Overall the system approach has solid grounds and should work in the long term.
The Second manual covers trading in-play on football matches. Most of these strategies have been seen before and are commonly known. So unless you are completely new to in-play trading this will be like going over old ground. This could be used during the current Euro 2008 Championships.
The third manual is about spread betting which I must admit I have never done. The manual does a good job of explaining spread betting. The author tells you which markets to bet on and which to avoid. Certainly if you have an interest in spread betting this manual would be very useful.
In conclusion I cannot start testing the main system until August probably September by then 5 games should have been played in the new season and the relevant data collected. If you purchase the system you must commit yourself to keeping your own records up to date and be prepared to use your own judgement on selections, which will become easier as the season progesses.
I will be testing the main system in September and posting the results on the blog.

This is a piece of software that you open up each day and your bets are automatically loaded into the software for you. Then at the time of each race, you simply paste the race accross and the machine works out how much you have to stake, when you do this you then tell the machine the outcome of the race
You may think that you have seen things like this before and while yes you have, the unique thing about the betting machine is that it has a cut off point of 6 consecutive losses, i like the idea of this as it seriously protects the betting bank
Another thing i like about the program is the fact that the stakes increase/ decrease according to the size of the betting bank, anyhow the test will start tomorrow with a bank of £1000 which i think works out at target of £5 per race

I got this software about 1-2 weeks ago and we have had some problems with the installation of it, i have sent a good few emails asking for support but have had no reply. This blog takes up enough of my time so i am moving this straight to the failed category and moving on
